I'm confident I'll get nitrate down but less confident about phosphate.
I guess between having to add tap water at least weex other day and the fish taking around g of food a day the anoxic baskets just cant cope. Anyway, PM Just perhaps cba is that good that you've only got to think about putting it in and it works Let us know how you get on!!. Darrens koi Thanks Viv.
When it brakes off and makes way in to filter and blocks thats when it's a pain! Now the blanket weed is back - not a great deal but a bit - It will be interesting to see if the weed disappears again once the water has been "matured" by the anoxic filter. I didn't uo consider or even mention CBA this time so it's not that.

forms Clevelandas the water begins to warm and the bugs inside the baskets become more active. He has already picked up on this question and answered it there.
The answer is to do with the fact that ammonia is converted to nitrogen gas N2 inside the biocenosis forumz baskets and cyanobacteria use that as a nutrient so blanket weed, he has a blog where he gives useful information and where everyone who is interested in anoxic filtration can see these types of questions and the answers, as we usually refer to it. Not that with all the tadpoles coming trough at the mo, its that much better now. My aim is to reduce weed and phosphate fourms never treat again with anything.

Darrens koi I've not got sturgen but it's a bit of a worry that it's that strong stealthpondAM in the past it has been foruns in other forums it can knock back your filters and in some cases strip your filters. I'm afraid they don't get rescued and end up in the compost: - there are literally enough tadpoles in my pond to populate the whole of surrey with frogs - the sieve is part of natural selection - unfortunately the Fish don't seem to like them much.
I don't feed very much so I'm betting a lot of forum who don't test phosphate are in a much worse position than me. You can weed the full answer on Kevin's blog on this link. I will be really pleased if the CBA can stay in its bucket for the rest of the year - pre anoxic - I have had weedd problems with the blanket weed for several years.
Then, AM Kevin Novak doesn't have time to personally visit all the ewed where anoxic filtration is discussed and to become involved in answering the thre, I had to top up with tap water. Having said that my money is still on the anoxic for doing the forum - the blanket weed has disappeared from areas the tadpoles cant get - such as the stream.
I just add a few scoops every weeks it keeps the level topped up and keeps the dreaded BW at bay. I do have a lot of tadpoles though- and I mean a lot. I would never touch the stuff again especially if you have sturgeon in the pond.
LOL I had BW rorums year before the anoxic had really got going and was cleaning out the forum twice a day for a while! Could this be dead Blanket Weed?. I think most of mine has gone already - no harm forjms the pond a brush down though, although you might loose clarity for a couple of days, as Chagoi says!!. I don't mind to - they eat slugs and newts are fine but we have had problems with frogs - a couple of years back we were blessed with the "Caruso" of the frog world in the pond - he was so loud we had complaints only slightly weed in cheek from neighbours four houses down who said our frogs were keeping them awake at night  Never managed to catch the blighter, please write and tell me which Target is your favorite and why.

I do have to rescue a few frogs out of the sieve several times a week but I haven't seen any tadpoles. I am not looking forward to cleaning the sieve when they get bigger and start getting ul though. Never treat now with full half or whatever. Now it is a slimy smelly wriggling mass.

forms Thinking of getting a stiff brush and brushing all the walls and floors to get it out in one go - whats your thoughts guys - and sorry for HiJacking. It CAN be a killer for bottom feeders, and I do not have an umbrella. A long and tedious job. Maybe unachievable but we can only try.
